Arsenal fans being obsessed with Liverpool actually makes perfect sense to me!

Just cede the wide areas entirely, surely nothing of note happens out there
December 10, 2025 at 10:29 PM
Dude it’s driving me nuts. People are doing the same thing in a wider scope, holding up last season’s title win as a shield from legitimate criticism of how we played that year.

Hah hadn’t thought about Taking Lives in forever.

Anyway he’s great. Very sound fella, extremely passionate about the thing he does.

Watch the Before Trilogy.

You’ve only watched two Ethan hawke movies?

I know what this means!
December 10, 2025 at 1:23 AM
His touches in the penalty area are down 32%!

Me, but card games
December 9, 2025 at 3:24 AM
Also what the fuck was he doing all summer. Getting physically fit is the easiest thing an athlete can do
December 8, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Yes of course. We pay tremendous wages and have one of the most talented squads in the world. Players have been signing for Utd for a decade. Six months of suffer ball can’t undo the last nine years
December 7, 2025 at 12:27 AM
Being that good at anything one day in my life would be cool, dude putting in 20 years at this level is preposterous

Going glyptodon mode
December 6, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Specifically a fullback pushing all the way up which is what it’s gonna take for our high press to succeed consistently
December 6, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Their press is legitimately incredible and nobody is better at pushing goalkeepers, but the refusal to take the necessary risks required to turn draws into wins means they’ll never get the kind of points totals that characterised the Klopp era
December 6, 2025 at 4:16 PM
I say I doubt they get more. They’ve been running pretty hot in front of goal too.
December 6, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Even now, with all those set piece goals and one goal wins and every little thing going their way, they’re running at an 84 point pace.
December 6, 2025 at 3:31 PM
There’s a bunch of ways to make the stuff work but the players have to practice it enough that they trust and commit to it, and that’s assuming the coach even knows and is able to convey what he wants.
December 4, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Well they did quite often play Grimaldo *and* hincapie, with the latter overlapping past the former. You just need somebody to stay wide (Gakpo) and somebody to potentially go past them (Robbo) and the three can rotate those roles to move defenders around.
December 4, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Wirtz made his living as a left sided ten at Leverkusen, that’s a solution that can work incredibly well, but not with both players statically sitting in that space, nobody pinning the backline, the wide outlets always coming short, no midfielders making runs beyond them, and no goddamn rotations

My guy doubled down on corduroy. Built different
December 4, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Another fun outlier stat: we have zero headed goals in the prem this year. We averaged 15 per season in the previous six.
