UPDATE: I did some tests & im gonna seal it with a glossy spray! Thank you everyone for the tips & thoughts 😌

I’ve used Rustoleom matte and Krylon gloss sprays for Posca pieces before (when painting on other non-paper surfaces) and they both have worked well for me! They tend to “juice” up the colors in a really nice way! Currently doing some tests to see how they work on wood too 🫡

Yeah I think I might try the gloss for this! I'll probably do a test piece first to be sure it won't gunky anything up haha. And aaah yeah that's such a shame! I am always so paranoid of that happening so I only ever use spray stuff 😭

That’s really good to know, thank you! I have both a matte and a gloss spray, I usually use matte but I do wonder if the gloss will help it look extra saturated in the end. Resin sounds like it must have been beautiful!

That’s totally fair! I usually use a matte clear coat spray for other stuff I need to seal (Rustoleum brand is my go-to); I have a gloss one too but I feel like that may react to the wood strangely? I have no idea haha maybe I should experiment 🤔

I typically use a matte clear coat spray when I seal other things that I use paint pens on! (Enamel or smooth cards, etc). I’ve also used a gloss spray but I’m not sure how that would react with the wood specifically hmm

Either way I’m having so much fun layering pencil on Posca lately and the wood takes it SO well so I’m enjoying myself 😌
