The SuperNOVAS C/C++ astrometry library just got another bug fix release (v.1.4.2). It updates the nutation models from the original IAU2000A to IAU2006 (a.k.a. IAU2000A_R06). Linux RPM and Debian packages are on their way also. #astrocode smithsonian.github.io/SuperNOVAS/

SuperNOVAS bug notice: The 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 releases contain a bug in the nutation model, resulting in typical errors at the 0.1 milliarcsecond level. A fix is readily available in the GitHub repo and the v1.4.2-rc1 release candidate also. Mea culpa. #astrocode github.com/Smithsonian/...

Do astrometry calculations for thousands/millions/billions of stars or galaxies taking too long? Try SuperNOVAS. It's super precise AND up to 40000 times faster than astropy. #astrocode github.com/Smithsonian/...

The SuperNOVAS 1.4.0 C/C++ astrometry library is now also available for RPM-based Linux distros. It can be used to calculate astrometric positions with high (sub-uas) precision, simply and orders of magnitude faster than astropy. #astrocode

SuperNOVAS does in C/C++ what astropy does in Python, except 3-5 orders of magnitude faster. What takes months to calculate with astropy is mere minutes with SuperNOVAS. The line-for-line comparison below shows that it's also just as easy to use as astropy. #astrocode
