I went to a townhall he did right after Trump got elected in 16. Overflow crowd standing in the freezing cold while he answered questions. Woman asked him if he would come out against the machine boss RI house speaker who would kill all the e.g. abortion protection bills. He just muttered…

You can totally disagree about whether this is dumb or not, but I don’t think you need a social media contagion theory to explain it.

I don’t think it’s unfathomable that a lot of people have looked at a RE listing showing a six figure price increase this decade, or went to shop for a car to find they mostly start at 30k, and had some sour feelings about it rather than analyzing it against their compound wage increases.

I sort of get why people want to believe that the Democrats heroically caved to stop the suffering of federal workers, but this theory falls apart entirely when you consider what they did in March. I find the SNAP excuse more pernicious given every one of these centrist freaks has spent the last few

Again, this entire argument you and Will are trying to make falls apart entirely the minute you think about the distribution of jobs are that actually need to be filled in a metro area, what constraints real people have in where they live, and how far those housing market issues stretch out.

Hey man this will probably be mind blowing to you, but there’s a public school system in Boston that requires public school teachers, and the housing market is largely the same anywhere within an hour of the city.

Will this is often how much a 100 year old two bedroom condo costs in the Boston area. Are you familiar with the concept that some people have specific professions and the jobs for those professions tend to be located in certain areas?

Of course Democrats are too dumb to realize that Republicans wouldn’t accept their surrender package

My personal theory is that the airport thing is the only good idea Republicans have had so far, and that’s because literally any time there’s disruptions to their personal routes Congress absolutely loses their shit and forgets anything else exists.

Doesn’t seem to be particularly good for the thesis that Wu was only neutering BTD temporarily during election season.
