Writer, actor, comedian, film, telly, radio. Listen to my sketch comedy show Crowley Time: crowleytime.com
I’ve just rewatched Spaced for the first time in over a decade and it’s flooded back into my head what an utterly foundational show it was for me. It shaped my sense of humour and palette of references but also showed me the importance of packing every second you’ve got full of stuff.

Yesterday I travelled to Burnistoun to watch @robertflorence.bsky.social put old Biscuity Boyle in the ground and oh, what a solemn occasion it was! A sublime hour of character stand-up, the whole room pishing themselves throughout.

The Weir (Harold Pinter Theatre), written and directed by Conor McPherson. One of my favourite plays ever written and tonight was my first time seeing it live on stage! A beautiful production. 1 hour 40 minutes straight through and it felt like half that. Everyone’s incredible in it, constantly.

Seven years of Crowley Time! Seven years of spoofs, goofs, sketches, characters and messages in bottles plucked from unknown shores. If you’ve never listened to it, make today the day you step into the abyss!

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, ‘Past Tense’ (1997). Should be required viewing as it’s about America in about a year’s time (even though it’s set last year). If its excellent time travel structure, character writing and social realism weren’t enough, Dick Miller’s in it.
