There's a difference between inspiration and literally just editing together a bunch of existing images--- directly taking pixels, portions of them, etc.--- and saying you made something "new." This is continually being explained yet they still think that's just "inspiration." Do they just not know?

It continues to baffle me how techbros don't understand that using an image you saw as a kid in your human memory as inspiration and photobashing (which is sort of all AI is doing) are two different things. Humans can photobash too, which is also generally considered stealing.

Huh, I hadn't heard that. All I've seen reported is that we don't know the terms of the settlement. That's very interesting (and confusing) if true.

Seems like it would've just been way more expensive to go through discovery than to just pay the guy 10k or something to F off
