I like movies and stuff.
You're right. I'm mostly just messing with people about this. But also annoyed by how bad reading comprehension is these days. There are other ways to fight it.

I would say it's not *that* open. If he specifically mentions movie snobs then it should be something they would disapprove of. Why mention them otherwise? It is admittedly rather clumsily worded.

Nothing wrong with that. You can hate something and it can still be “real cinema”.

I interpret it as “a movie you love that is widely considered to be bad”. Otherwise he could’ve just as well asked “what’s your favorite movie?”.

A lot of people also hate Wes Anderson movies.

This movie is very much considered "real cinema" by many film snobs...
December 7, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Pretty sure even the film snobs would consider this "real cinema". They also can enjoy lightweight entertainment from time to time! Especially if it's claymation.

In what universe is this cult classic by renowned film master John Carpenter not considered "real cinema"? We're talking John Carpenter here.

DR. STRANGELOVE and THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL as well.
December 7, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Sure, a movie that won 11 oscars and became the highest grossing film of all time when it came out isn’t considered “real cinema”.
December 7, 2025 at 12:12 PM
It’s a Wes Anderson movie, it’s very much considered “real cinema” by everyone. Did you even read the prompt?
