Because prior to citizens United it was much more difficult to openly buy politicians. I want to get corporate money out of politics as a first step to address one the largest underlying problems behind the party. I don't want to just addeds surface level issues.

Right wingers, who are bought by corporate lobbyist who have the same objectives as those think tanks are why we don't. Until we address the root cause we will never solve these problems. Im not sure why that's such an insane concept.

You don't think the far right political party that's driven by corporate lobbying and those think tanks wouldn't figure out a way to start another political party where they do the same exact shit they're doing now? Really?

If you just ban the party and don't address those other issues it will just reform as another party, better disguised. We have to address the root cause that has led to the Republican party being as awful as it is.

Banning Nazi ideology, eliminating corporate lobbying, and outlawing think tanks like the heritage foundation, Manhattan Institute, etc would be more achievable and more successful than trying to ban the right wing political party as a whole.

And you know who started the removal of regulations because they viewed them as a demonic strategy to impact their conservative Christian businesses? Paul Weyrich, Edwin fuelner, and Joseph Coors. Does anyone know what they started? The heritage foundation.

Yes, I disagree with their point of view, but Paul Weyrich was also an expert at propaganda and laid the ground work for fox news, turning point, etc. refusing to acknowledge the heritage foundations impact on American politics is basically saying you think the earth is flat.

However they couldn't run on being openly racist at that time, so they worked with the heritage foundation to start the anti-abortion movement to rally Christians who 5 years prior literally didn't care about abortion into voting for anti-abortion politicians.

The heritage foundation literally started abortion as a culture war topic to organize voters in order to protect billy grahams tax exempt status as a segregated school. There were politicians running who wanted to protect his schools tax exempt status.

It's almost like marx himself said that political revolution requires participating in electoral politics while participating in political revolution because even he saw that you cannot change the underlying principles that control a country without changing the laws themselves

That's literally been my argument for years now and Everytime I say it I get shit on by leftists everywhere for being a "liberal". Even fucking marx said that it's not either or. That in order for revolution to happen you just participate in elections while participating in revolution.

We can move past capitalism, and it will require some form of violence to get there, but at some point it also requires people in a position of power in the government who are willing to change laws to get us there and we cannot get there without participating in elections.

I have listened to leftists for 2 years now say "political revolution will happen when Trump wins again and fascism comes home". Where is the revolution? Where did they all go? It's organized propaganda from the same foreign propaganda farms that convinced people to vote for trump.

In Texas for example, where I live, it is currently illegal for a communist or socialist to hold political office at any level. In order to get to a point where we can have people with socialist or communist ideologies in power, we will have to organize, vote, and change the laws first.

Lol but again, where am I defending capitalism? Im simply stating that in order to get to any of our objectives of changing the economic system, changing the two party system, etc. it will require organized voting efforts to get people in power who are willing to change laws to get there.

You should do some research on it. They were behind getting Reagan elected and wrote the majority of his policy. They've been working with every Republican elected official since 1973 to drive conservative Christian policy. Susie wiles worked both Reagan's admin and Trump's admin.
