Joy and encouragement to walk with Bp David to St Piran’s Oratory and 2nd Church. Great company from across the Pydar deanery, sharing stories and praying in the footsteps of Cornwall’s patron.

The most joy-filled, life-enhancing coming together of Church and community led by the North Coast Choir and Fiddle-me-timbers to celebrate St Carantoc’s Day. What a privilege and blessing to be part of this.

A fabulous afternoon retracing the story of Saint Piran. To the Oratory, and then the Lost Church, accompanied by the relics of the Saint - a lively crowd, a warm welcome, brilliant sunshine, and a very happy Successor of St Piran (or so it says in my Church) - that’s a pretty high bar!

Mt Hawke filling up with a good number of young people for an interactive telling of the Christmas story and a Christingle celebration - the first one in five years. So encouraging to see the Mt Hawke community re-engaging with their parish church. Particularly love the pew-end candleabra.

Can’t quite capture the joy and spectacle of the St Piran’s Christmas tree festival tonight. Such investment by so many individuals and groups within and beyond the village. Big shout out to Perranporth School for their combination of Food Bank contributions and tree.

Lively, engaging and positive meeting of the Pydar DIT - first for two ‘newbies’. Lots to be encouraged by, not least some great new partnerships.

Welcome to Cornwall! Six churches, five parishes, one Vicar. Saint Piran landed here and built his first oratory. A thin place if ever.
