Classic Sci Fi book collector, Traveller TTRPG GM, retro handheld and board game player. And I guess now a returning Final Fantasy XIV player.
Ok what about breaking up Disney then? Netflix is a middle weight player in the over all scheme of Hollywood. Yet Disney was and is allowed to gobble up everyone it wants. Sure stop this sale but then you need to tackle the rest of the Hollywood monopolies.

I'm either going to tackle the final 6 comic issues I picked up last week (before I pick up 8 more is week) or I'm going to keep going through CJ Cherryh's Hellburner. I'm a bit shy of 3/4th through it. It's definitely an interesting book if a bit slow but I think that's the charm of her stuff.

God we are so allergic to trains, trams and light rail its fucking embarrassing. The last thing we need it cars run by programs made by corpo Facists that are far more interested in money then people.

I've seen some on your recipe and I really want to grab a few but I only have a ninja creami. I was wondering if you have ever tried any of your recipes in one before?

Lol my comic book store is also right next to a newly opened cat Cafe! We've been meaning to book time at it with my son too. Though with 3 cats already we already live in a cat Cafe lol

Oh absolutely. I'm Nvidia but it still worked great.

Oops! All allies was why I hated it for a while for sure.

I only game on pc so yeah Linux wasn't an option till recently. Tried bazzite when I got a free 4060 pc from a friend, and I just run it like a steam machine. Has a few initial set up issues but now it's basically flawless.

I never teach strategy/tactics unless it's a tip explicitly in the rule book. I think it's just easier to let people learn HOW to play. I think if people don't trade "correctly" that's part of the fun and learning experience. I also have never traded cards in this game so it's fully playable w/o it

What is it your struggling to explain? The negotiate deals are pretty straightforward. It's basically either cards or a colony, that's it.

You can definitely have bad groups as with any game and the powers can combine in some really unfun or broken ways so I totally get it.

Cosmic encounters is basically a sure fire hit with any group. It's the only game I can get my work to team to play when we all get together twice a year and they LOVE it. I was instantly known as The Board Game Guy lol

Absolutely one of my favorite films of all time. One of the most re-watchable films ever. The sequels have some issues but over all some really great movies.

Damn you were the wrong account to follow after I just told my wife I'm not buying any more game for a while 😂 never heard of this but looked it up on bgg and it seems really cool.

As for what distro yeah it's a real minefield for sure but Ubuntu is kind of the default version that pretty much a windows alternative. But once again, look into what your needs are first.
December 4, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Can't super help you there as I'm definitely a Linux newbie, but from what I've seen a hard drive that was on windows should work with all data intact if you switch fully to Linux. Definitely do you research but yeah I'm looking to swap my other windows pc to Linux too.
December 4, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Get the heck off windows completely. Alot of stuff has either a Linux version or a good Linux alternative. I just put bazzite on my gaming only pc and its literally just a steam machine now. So happy I got off windows.
