Campaigning collaboratively, locally and nationally, to transform asylum in the UK.
Leaving refugees in 20 years of limbo; ripping up human rights protections and stopping families from reuniting.

The Government isn't addressing hatred and division - it's giving in to extremists.
November 17, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Today's asylum reforms put the basic principle of refugee protection under threat.

They won't stop irregular migration. But they would make us a country that has given in to extremists and abandoned vital protection principles set up after the horrors of the Second World War.

Banning people from work has never made sense. The House of Lords couldn't understand it, and we don't either.

The Government is prepping asylum reforms RIGHT NOW. They must hear voters want an end to this absurd ban - not more irrational hostility:

There are so many reasons the work ban has to end - and this is one of the most important ones.

The good news is, pressure to end this unjust and illogical ban is building. Add your voice now, and tell the Government it's time to let people work:

People seeking sanctuary come from all walks of life - and have so many different skills. Banning them from working makes no sense.

Banning talented, resilient people from work has never made sense.

Members of the House of Lords just told the Government that the absurd asylum work ban has to go. Now we need to show them the public feels the same.

Tell the minister to Lift The Ban:

How many people have died because the UK won't give them a safe route to seek sanctuary?

The shocking truth is, we don't exactly know. Our Government refuses to keep an official record of the people who die trying to reach safety here.
November 10, 2025 at 4:44 PM
From 'one-in-one-out' to another bizarre scheme: this time keeping families apart & reducing support for people fleeing war.

A better asylum system doesn't need to be this complicated. Just let people work, process their claims, and stop wasting millions on expensive cruelty.
November 10, 2025 at 10:34 AM
While headlines focus on how many people claim asylum in the UK, there's one number that's not even officially counted:

The number of people who die while trying to seek sanctuary here.

We know our policies kill people. Their deaths must not be ignored.

Rania has so many skills to offer - but she's banned from using them while awaiting her asylum decision. Today, the House of Lords debated a vital change to force Parliament to hear evidence about the impact of this absurd work ban.
The Government must listen to people like Rania and #LiftTheBan

We know people seeking asylum are dying: but Government won't even record their deaths. We can't save lives without knowing how people are dying & why.
Today, Lords debate a Borders Bill amendment to ensure these deaths can't be swept under the rug.

The West Mids #LifttheBan Campaign group had such an amazing response last week. Lots of local independent businesses were ready to show their support for the right to work!

If you care about human suffering, military asylum camps are a terrible idea.

If you care about taxpayers' money, military asylum camps are a terrible idea.

So why is the Government about to open more military asylum camps?

We signed this letter, along with proud Brummies who know that Birmingham wouldn’t be Birmingham without people from around the world.

But we’re worried our proud tradition of sanctuary is being undermined by divisive rhetoric and dangerous policy. 👇

Timeline cleanse: if you're sick of seeing hostility & hate, this video from last weekend's Day of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention is what you need.

The day was loud, vibrant show of community, solidarity & resistance - soak it in, and let us know how you're showing your own solidarity.

Your regular reminder that we all miss out on £1.6bn a year to our economy, just so our Government can keep cruelly denying people the right to work while they wait for the results of their asylum application.

Over 20,000 people are detained every year in the UK’s immigration system, many without a time limit. Indefinite detention destroys lives. It’s time for change.

28 days.
That's how long many newly-recognised refugees now have to find a home, get a job, open a bank account - to build a whole new life.
That means homelessness is inevitable for many people.

Constantly shifting the goalposts for what "good enough" looks like will mean migrants, including refugees, are never allowed to feel safe and settled.
It's chilling to see the Home Secretary say "living and working" isn't enough - and to wonder what more she could possibly demand.
September 29, 2025 at 11:15 AM
This is what scapegoating of people seeking safety by mainstream parties leads to. Not placating anti-migrant extremists, but egging them on. This terrifying plan to attack our friends & neighbours shows why we must keep fighting for the rights of all migrants.

Reminder: no one should be living in a converted hotel while waiting for an asylum decision.
Successive governments, not individual refugees, are to blame for the crisis in asylum accommodation - here's how our leaders could close the hotels:
September 20, 2025 at 1:31 PM
Today, a human being was robbed of their right to ask for safety. We don't know why they risked their life to reach the UK - but we know the very least they deserved was a fair hearing. We know they didn't deserve to be punished for using the only route available to them.
September 19, 2025 at 3:44 PM
'Lurching from one ridiculous proposition to another.'

That's Keir Starmer talking sense on the last Government's absurd asylum accommodation plans. So why is he now revisiting similar ideas?

The PM knows repurposed sites won't work. Can't we leave failed plans in the past?
September 18, 2025 at 8:55 AM
No, we shouldn't 'surrender the flag'. But far, far more importantly, we must not surrender our policy making.
The PM is right to condemn this violence - but he must also stop promoting hostile anti-migrant policies to appease those who spread fear and hatred.
