We have been working on synthesizer for quite a while now (~3yrs 😅), expect more papers coming out using it. There is already a paper out on arxiv (arxiv.org/abs/2506.15811), submitted to the Journal of Open Source Software. An introduction paper will be out very soon!
Synthesizer: Synthetic Observables For Modern Astronomy
Synthesizer is a fast, flexible, modular, and extensible Python package that empowers astronomers to turn theoretical galaxy models into realistic synthetic observations - including spectra, photometr...

We also provide a github link (github.com/aswinpvijaya...) where there are a few notebooks that you can run to reproduce all the plots in the paper or if you want to do your own exploration. This uses the open-source python package, synthesizer (synthesizer-project.github.io/synthesizer/), a well

model galaxies and hydrodynamical simulations. We look at the SFR, ionising photon production efficiency and the mass-metallicity relation. The variation in the properties of stellar population and star-dust geometry can make them unreliable. You can read the paper to find out more!
