Character: Kashuu Kiyomitsu Prompt: Folktales - Kuchisake Onna She stands on the pavement, scissors dangling limply from one hand. The click of heels breaks through the droning rain and her head turns automatically, wet black hair obscuring her face. "Am I-" "Hey, hey. Do you think I'm cute?" She takes in his appearance. Perfect makeup, coordinated outfit, styled hair slightly frizzy with humidity. She nods. "Hmm~" He unwinds the blood red scarf around his neck, revealing a mangled scar. "How about now?" "Yes," she breathes, the vowel splitting her smile far too wide. He grins back and tilts his umbrella to cover her. "Thanks. You're pretty too, Aruji."

Day 1 Prompt: Haunted/Shadows
Character: Ishikirimaru Prompt: Haunted It had taken Ishikirimaru four years to clear a path to the rotted-out pillars of the torii without the grass and withered branches growing back overnight. Two more years before the stone lanterns held a flame that didn't turn blue and vanish, smokeless. One before the shimenawa he hung remained uncut. Three to sweep leaf mold and acorn husks from the path leading to the altar steps. Now, the approach. He left the day's offering on the first step and bowed. Best not to dwell on how many more years it would take to reclaim what the shrine had stolen.
