YEAH i blame stanley kubrick for the perpetuation of this 😔 i just hope people can learn from directors like GDT and learn that not every creative production has to be a miserable one. "suffering" isn't a path to good art, most times it's the opposite

my genuinely honest opinion is that if the vibes are good in legitimately any production (and of course, you need a good director like GDT to create something memorable), then everything contributed by every individual comes out to be the best they can manage, not the bare minimum that is expected

i feel as though people too often rely on an algorithm to provide recommendations for them rather than digging through endless lists of preexisting media and it shows by the way the speak of certain stories underneath the social media limelight. there's more of what you're speaking of! i promise!!

i think it's always within the subtleties whenever an author impresses me with their writing. how a character responds to certain actions, albeit small, informs so much of the environment they live in i.e the thorough analysis of how heathcliff is treated vs his adopted siblings

we often enable (and sometimes worsen!) harm by ignoring it or not vocalizing our complaints. a blackout is simply giving them what they want: to push those they don't want out. we are supposed to be doing the very opposite of this and be as obnoxious as we possibly can
