Cosmology PhD student. Interested in ML and the LSS ✨, collecting cool earrings, and making stuff.

A PhD is very challenging but 80% of the challenges are probably psychological. The science part works out eventually but the truth is that one wouldn't manage if they just kept crashing out every time they felt like things were out of their control. It has been such a relief to realize this.

It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a world to raise a scientist.

I feel like environment can really make or break the progress and motivation of a person (at least when person=me).

It is such a shame and I hope that ~2.5 years from now I will have learned to be more independent.

sometimes it really blows my mind to think that everyone I meet and speak with in context of my career is an astrophysicist or a cosmologist... such a happy and crazy thought!

My heart is broken over the news of all the damage floods are doing to the city of Derna in Libya; my family lives in Egypt on the same coast, less than 500 miles away... It is devastating to imagine how everyone who had their entire home and family wiped out must be feeling.

I am far from being a radio astronomer but I KNOW it is a cannon event for my astrophysicist character to have at some point a pfp with the biggest telescope she ever met.
