Her need to call Mar-a-Lago “Wannsee South” was a little on the nose though.

This is Frankie. He says “relax.”

That nose! I wanna pet and squeeze them so much!

My “Noam Chomsky was not corrupted after spending time with wealthy pedophiles and rapists” shirt is raising more questions than it answers.

“The Soviet invasion was good.”

My friend let me tell you about Mohammad Najibullah and his work in the KhAD.

Frankly, because that antique hardware is better. There’s more friction to the experience, but it’s real and can’t be taken away by a multi-national company who decided they didn’t want to pay for more server space.

Get a Sony or Panasonic and you won’t be disappointed. I see great Blu-Ray/DVD players at Goodwill for $10 nearly every visit. You’ll be shocked at how much better a physical disc looks versus streaming.

America has a real problem for straight men - disappearing lesbian bars.

There’s nothing better than a great double entendre bar name and people smart enough to say “we’re cool without the cis dudes.”

the democrats fucked up the shutdown but they are going to, in raw political calculations, benefit tremendously because "these fuckers jacked your insurance premiums through the roof along with beef prices" is a really easy message

republicans just want you to die, as usual

r/plumbing, r/roofing, and r/lawncare are not only helpful, but you see the wildest flipper specials on those subreddits. Like, who doesn't want to see what a shower looks like after you learn a contractor didn't use Red Guard or any other waterproofing 4 years ago?

Damnit. Spell correct got me and changed a “your” to you’re”.

A) You’re last book was amazing
B) You’re a fantastic non-fiction author and teacher
C) there’s absolutely zero RFK sexting in it because of points (A) & (B)

Can’t wait to pre-order.

My lossless audio was also turned off, which, yet another choice most people don’t want Apple making.

I responded how I would joke with a friend, and, I am sincerely sorry for misgendering you in my original post. I read your bio after and felt like a real jerk.

Take the second “description” out and that joke lands slightly better. I really need to learn how to proof read.

I think the deeper issue is that reactionary racist/sexist beliefs shape how a lot of techbros interpret art.

I loved ‘violent’ cartoons like GI Joe as a kid, but I didn’t grow up worshipping guns or the military. The art didn’t create the worldview; people bring their worldview to the art.

By all means ignore someone giving you a fact based response. Have a great night, and bless your heart!

I’m all for using BitTorrent. But it’s not a magic bullet. Huge parts of the Internet Archive exist only because someone digitized physical media in the first place. You still want physical backups, you just can’t depend on P2P alone for longevity.
December 6, 2025 at 4:36 AM
So… replacing drives when they ‘act weird’ is still losing drives.

And modern P2P isn’t some immortal archive; swarm sizes cratered after 2010, and half of the old torrents are held together by just one lonely seeder. Physical media nerds? Our discs still spin.
