A silence settles on ancient woodland at sunset

The birds, already singing in hushed tones, go quiet as the shadows lengthen

Any noise at all now alerts the senses of every living thing. The atmosphere is somewhat electric

If you find🎄 hard due to grief, trauma, family stuff, wonky self esteem, neurodivergence &/or an urge to throw Christmas down the loo, become a reclusive pagan & maybe make a small hat out of mistletoe at a push, then hi,me too. Here are some good twigs & I’m sending gentle thoughts. It’s only a few days🌿

22 Dec: Evergreen and often in bloom at #Christmas, rosemary is woven into wreaths and garlands as a symbol of hope, fertility, and remembrance. In old custom, the wassail cup was sometimes made from rosemary wood, and stirred with a fragrant sprig before being shared. #folklore

I love summer but the winter solstice is my favourite day

The lowest point of the year, but knowing tomorrow the days will be on the turn

This quote from Camus is not necessarily optimism or denial. But rather joy as an act of resistance in a world that seems dark & cold

The taste of morning
Gently touches its lavender folds.

Dewdrops
Caress and slide,
Getting lost inside.

A new day of glory.

We sit in faith,
Knowing everything
Is always working out for us.

Immerse yourself for a few seconds in glowing glass landscapes and resonant spoken folklore 👇
Turn down the lights, turn up the volume for a sublime moment. The words of Jackie Morris read by Jerome Flynn put together with music by Dougal Abbott. This is balm for the soul. (Stained glass by me!)
