i cannot recommend jailbreaking it enough!! i jailbroke mine and along with de-amazoning it i have an app called KOReader which improves my reading experience on my kindle SIGNIFICANTLY!! plus, this way i’m not contributing to e-waste :)

you can also use Calibre to de-DRM your e-book files so you own them and they can’t be removed from your kindle/e-reader! i’m unfortunately one of those people who can’t read physical books due to disability, so this has been the second best solution to buying physical for me

at least the kindle only needs to be charged every few weeks 😭
