Acknowledging that we have been (and are being) manipulated by Silicon Valley takes the onus off of us as individuals to combat the mass distraction they've created. There ARE lifestyle changes we can make to reclaim some of our peace, but this problem has to be fixed at a much higher level.

...but I finished the book hopeful about the future of smartphone tech and social media design. None of it is immutable, and all of it is intentional. It is something we can organize to change.
