In thinking about it, yeah, it aligns to some understandings of pricing math, though it is weird.

If you do X4.88, you jump away from common numbers, specifically intervals of 5 and 0.99. Your brain rounds that up.

So X4.88 can "feel" cheaper and feel like savings. A pretty Wal-Mart strategy.

We can be firm about facts and negative outcomes to using something, absolutely. We should share important facts like this with one another.

I research AI. I'm also not a fan of AI. I'm more than aware of its many pitfalls, resource drains, bad actors, and malicious usages.

But I also saw 0 people point out that AI developed to recognize the shape of bread was able to identify cancer cells.

Cancer cells ALSO look like bread.
