And I could feel the misunderstanding and awkwardness hanging in the air, so palpable you could cut it with a knife.

I explained everything to everyone later, which even made Mr. Samsa laugh, but my face was burning.

And I could swear that in that second, I wished the arbitrators would just take my head. Right that second.

And the worst part is, that Mr. Samsa intervened, quote, "Hey, Heath, bud, no need to be rude. We all lose things sometimes."

I just put two words together, getting something in between, you know? But it didn't immediately dawn on me that this word sounded similar to another word, and the realization hit me when he shouted, "Oi, massy! Your glove fell out of your pocket!" to the whole bus.

So, to my regret, in my anger, I explained the concept of non-binary identity in an accessible to him way, quote:
"Call me "massy" if you absolutely must have some independent address other than my name."

Today he approached me with a question, and I quote, preserving the intonation and linguistics: "Oi! If you're not a mate nor a lassy, what should I call you then?"

And this despite the fact that I'd already had a conversation with him about it. Despite all my understanding and patience.

Virgil and Charon were excluded from the study group for objective and obvious reasons, although I can't deny my curiosity. Unfortunately, it will forever remain theoretical.

I had to catch Heathcliff (literally), but surprisingly, I managed to come to an agreement with him over small treats. We agreed that I needed the data, but he wouldn't do it for free either. Fair enough.

The hug was rough and clumsy, but the sincerity was palpable.

Outis initially refused rudely, but when I told her it was Dante who asked to collect the data, she agreed (funny). But, again, her hug was too strong and formal! She said she wanted to show her best and most respectable results.

Sinclair looked confused, even seemed scared, as if I was suggesting something out of the ordinary, but then he even said he liked it. I said I wouldn't mind doing it again (sometime).

I don't like Ishmael; we hugged halfheartedly, very formally. (She even brushed off her jacket afterward!)

Hong Lu wasn't opposed either, although he did clarify how exactly I wanted the hugging process to go. I said I wanted him to show me how he could and how he felt. I thought his hug was a little sad. (It defies rational explanation.)

Don Quixote possesses great physical strength and even greater enthusiasm. It was a little painful, but it was nice to see the smile on her face (and generally to be so happy).

Yi Sang didn't mind, though he smiled mysteriously when he learned the reason. I think he assumed something else. But he hugged me gently, though not tightly, and he stroked my back too.

This was too...sprawling, so I'll summarize.
Ryōshū - anyone in their right mind is afraid to approach her (unable to gather data).
Meursault - extremely formal, although he provided full description of his technique for "completeness." 6 out of 10
Faust - I hate her (0 out of 10)

He was gentle (very), warm, although he smelled tobacco, but... (Note: CUT, THIS SOUNDS WEIRD)

I suddenly felt calm. Mr. Samsa even patted me on the back and didn't rush me. But then I felt too awkward.

He was confused at first, even asking to repeat, but my excuse convinced him. At first, he put his arm around my shoulders, worried about hurting me with his bio-altered arm, but I assured him the data would be incorrect (why did I do that?)

Mr. Samsa... For some reason, I want to write so much and yet nothing at the same time. My palms were sweating, and it was hard to even approach him. Fear? No. Impossible. (Although for some reason I wanted to approach him more than anything else; a strange anticipation was warming inside.)

Next up - Rodion. She was more than happy, didn't even require any explanation. However, our height difference and her... physiological peculiarities made the process a little awkward and suffocating. But it was enjoyable. (Although for some reason I feel weird doing this with her.)

It's worth starting with our Manager - Dante. It's worth noting that they were very cooperativе.

First, it's worth noting their lack of confidence and experience, which affects the technique. But hugging them was quite pleasant, albeit strange\unusual due to the shape of their head.

AHA! I had a unique and brilliant idea: collecting statistical data on each team member's hugging techniques! Why would one need that? Well, for statistics. Statistics.

Should I ask Mr. Samsa? For some reason, I trust him, even though his biological arm is something to be wary of. But I imagine he might be gentle with it...

Note to self: be wary of developing such thoughts to avoid unprofessionalism.
