I know this doesn't need to be said for probably 97% of the people following me, and you're probably sick of hearing it too, especially if you're not in the USA.
But this post is for that potential other 3%. A few people who could do a world of good by setting aside their apathy for a day:
Vote this Tuesday if you're American and have not already. If you have anyone you care about in your life with a uterus, with dark skin, or who is trans, do it for them. Even someone with a same-sex partner. That right may seem firmly set in stone now, but that's what we all said about Roe v. Wade, too. If you have anyone you care about in your life who is elderly, poor, has an addiction, is sick, or who otherwise has special needs, do it for them. Do you have anyone in your life you care about who is a sex worker or who is an artist that creates NSFW media? Do it for them, too. The far right will be coming for so many of the freedoms people have fought so hard to secure if they're given carte blanche by trump returning to the executive office. Voting may not seem like a big deal from where you're sitting, you personally may not be that affected by the result, or it may just seem hopeless... but it's a small thing that you can do. And if trump is denied another term because a few extra people showed up to vote against him, that will not be a small thing at all. A lot of small actions can produce a meaningful, historical result. Shrugging it off or saying "They're both bad" is extremely shortsighted. Are you upset that the genocide in Gaza is being aided by the administration Harris is a part of? Well, i assure you, a trump administration will not change that. Not only will it not be any better for the vulnerable people over there, for the millions of vulnerable people over here, some of whom you likely know, love, and care about, it will have a far, far worse impact. Think about anyone you care about that's been mentioned earlier in this post and please go vote.
