Despite their semi big role in the cartoon the Monster Gobots don't really show up much in the Gobots comic with Vamp having the biggest role as an army made by Braxis and keeping him alive before being unceremoniously killed.

Scorp, Pincher, Hornet, Klaws, Heart Attack,... 1/2

To me Royal-T aka Harrier Robo is one of the worst examples of Tonka cheating out with not including the stickers of the Machine Robo design as the lack of stickers got rid of the interesting color separation that cut up the two tone gray and dark gray the toy has without them.

While the Gyrobots never released so we're not completely sure how they would've worked, we do know that they wouldn't have been remote controlled like the Power Marchers but would instead move randomly.

A feature of the Machine Robo Rescue toyline was that all the toys featured no additional pieces for the combiner modes, all that was needed was the Leader Robo and the Supporter Robo. This came with the downside of the head often looking overly small in combined mode.

The backstory for what Machine Robo as a species has always been very inconsistent. In the 1982 and 1985 fiction, they were mecha created by beings on Romulus. In Revenge of Cronos, they're not created and can have families. And in Machine Robo Rescue they were mecha again.

Outside of the transforming sushi figures the only other type of toy in the Osushi Sentai Sharida Series were the vehicles which two were made, one for the sushi roll figured and the other for the nigiri sushi figures. The vehicles were about twice the price of a regular figure.

The most complicated of the Osushi Sentai Sharida Series figures was Ikurasu. While the others were $11 in the U.S., Ikurasu cost $26. It is also easy to see why just by looking at it with it looking much more complex in both engineering and aesthetic.

Osushi Sentai Sharida Series by Takara Tomy was a transforming robot toyline starting in 2014 (I believe). The toyline consisted mostly of sushi that turned into robots, with the fish on top becoming a shield. Another type were different figures that turned into sushi rolls

This is another example of many of lack of cohesion and correspondence between different areas of the Gobots franchise considering this would've been a very easy place to have advertised Gong and Tic Toc considering they released that very year.

The cancellation of Battle Hackers must've been very sudden behind the scenes as the finale kills off Gakurandar unceremoniously, R. Jetan disappears from the episode, and it is left on a cliffhanger that was never resolved with Akira promising to free the Battle Hackers.

While I don't expect this was a reference, this was also kind of done with the Gobots in the IDW comic with characters like Hans-Cuff and Vamp.

Although the Gobots in that are human-created rather than the Machine Robo which are completely organic beings like humans.

I don't know if this is the case for Rock Lords (I couldn't find enough evidence to get a consistent average price for the toyline) but in Japan the Rock Robo actually cost more than the Machine Robo 600 figures at 950 yen or 350 yen more, and considering the less complex... 1/2

Oh fuck

Magmar aka Devilrock's color scheme in Rock Robo is a lot more vibrant with brighter greens and bright purple instead of orange.

The Battle of the Rock Lords film however decided to take Magmar's already somewhat bland color scheme and make it even duller by removing the green.

The Gobots show goes off model in terms of scale quite a LOT with the chart saying humans are roughly half the size of characters like Cy-Kill and then they're depicted as being miniscule in many scenes.

Because Machine Robo Battle Hackers doesn't take place in the same universe as Revenge of Cronos (technically, it's kinda complicated), Baikanfu shows up in Battle Hackers for only a brief moment as do a few other Revenge of Cronos characters and don't really do much.

Individual Machine Robo are a race rather than individual beings so for example instead of Bike Robo being an individual character and the only one that looks like that, there are many that look like that. This also applied to the Rock Robo.

Interestingly they also share... 1/2

The big gimmick of the Diarobo toyline was that the toys were 1:64th scale meaning that they were in the same scale as model cars like Hot Wheels.

To translate that to Transformers, that means an average toy was about the same scale as an old Legion Class.
