Thankyou to the agents at every level who engage with our work. You are, all of you, most appreciated. I also wanted to say that, in the same vein, while I do hope to be published someday, I am just excited for the opportunity to have people read my stuff at any level. Makes it worthwhile

Hello friends! In the words of Staind, "it's been a while...". How is everyone in Blue Sky land? Hope you're finding inspiration to write and to create, and that life has been kind to you so far this year.

I am severely disappointed by the number of bots and AI profiles on this platform.

Working on something a little fangy, and imho a little cheeky. Let's see how it pans out.

Who knew that writing another novel - completely separate from one's debut novel in both theme and idea - would be so daunting? It took me the better part of 5 yrs to write "The Vacant Throne," and now it may very well take me another 5 for this one. Who knew?

If given the ability to time-travel, people would do all sorts of things like fixing past mistakes to rewrite history or even investing in a burgeoning company to make their current selves rich.

I, meanwhile, would probably just go back to a really good meal I had once to relive the experience.

Snow static. The view out of my condo window this morning as I contemplate the day and the coming week. Winter has, indeed, come.

What if they had a Christie's Auction for Kids' Fridge Art?

"Ladies and gentlemen, we come to Lot number 242, 'The Macaroni Dog' By Christopher, age 6. We will start the bidding at two Legos..."

Wishing all my American friends a happy and safe Thanksgiving! May your homes be filled with laughter and warmth, may your plates and bellies be full, and may you be thankful for all that you have and hold dear.

Heard the #wickedsoundtrack & I have one gripe with Defying Gravity. The final bar is sung as a run/riff, & while stunning, it is supposed to be a liberating yell - a powerful exclamation of breaking free - & it falls short. It loses the power & defiance of a battlecry & becomes more of a spectacle.

It is OKAY and NORMAL to doubt and to second-guess yourself and your writing. It is okay and normal to perceive it however you wish. But, it is also IMPERATIVE that you keep going.

The first draft is just words. The second draft is a story.

Some #wordsofencouragement for you all today: Your current situation is NOT your final destination. Even though it is difficult to step back and be objective, try to always remember that.

So, I hate to do this to y'all, but this question was just posed at work: FLYING. SPIDERS. Do they exist? Thankfully, no. Will they? I hope not.

Bit of a controversial topic amongst the #writingcommunity, but I am of the opinion that #ai should not be used for writing your story unless it is used primarily as a research tool, as an assistant for grammar/punctuation, or as an aid for #disabledwriters. It is otherwise disingenuous and lazy.

Good morning/afternoon #writingcommunity! Today, may you slay your dragons, whatever they be.

@misterkristoff.bsky.social Please find your way to Ontario, Canada, in the near future. Toronto preferably. I have things for you to sign, lol. Respectfully, a huge fan.

Was walking through @homesense.bsky.social and found this staring at me from the bookshelves. Didn't come here for kitchenware, decor and childhood trauma, but here we are...

Also, these exist now. They taste like spiced stuffing (or dressing) and gravy. Objective accomplished, I guess.

I'm not entirely sure how one becomes noticed on here (not that that is my sole intention for being on this burgeoning platform). But as someone who writes and hopes to become [traditionally] published some day, how do you go about marketing yourself and your work? What agencies do you approach?
November 17, 2024 at 7:46 PM
I am often inspired to write whenever I read or watch something, but then the inspiration and excitement for that thing peters out the next day and it takes me a while to come back to it. Does anyone else in the #writingcommunity have this issue? How do you deal?
