ok so what gets me is how the first image is clearly taika cosplaying as ed and the second one is taika visibly in character as ed, despite the fact that he doesn't have the wig or tats in either pic and you can't see his facial expression in the second

honestly i maintain that the s1 "the fuck are you doing with your head between my legs" when he's trying to get ed out of the harness is just not how you react to someone whose head's been between your legs before

now interestingly for exactly three episodes stede has a unique sword. he's got it at the start of the raid in 2x05 and he loses it in the duel against zheng at the end of 2x07.
It has a cooler, fancier hilt than the generic sword, because he is a pirate hero now who gets cool hero accessories.

here you can see the navy guys have very similar ones. slightly different paint job on the hilt, probably because it looks better sticking out of rory's face that way.

people think of this as izzy's sword a lot, which is understandable because he's the character you see with it most. but it's not unique to him, anytime you see a random background pirate or navy guy they usually have this exact same sword.

the navy officers in s1 did not use the m1805, they used another infantry saber that's more similar to the generic prop but not quite identical. i think these might also be on auction under the label "british soldier hero" (lol) but the pics aren't clear enough to tell.

you've got this one labeled izzy_prop_sword; is it possible that's misidentified? i can't find it under that name on the auction site and it looks to me like one of stede's, not izzy's.

ricky's officers use the same sword but enlisted navy sailors do not, they use the ones below, which look like sabre-briquet used by napoleonic french infantry. these are basically THE generic ofmd sword prop; they're also used by a lot of random background pirates including izzy.

ricky uses an m-1805 pattern royal naval officer's sword. this is about a century late obv but before that there wasn't a standard issue royal navy officer sword so it makes sense. this is very easy to find replicas of btw.

the straight-bladed ones near the top of this random grab bag assortment are rapiers, or at least closer to the rapier end of the rapier-smallsword spectrum; you can see the blade is significantly heavier
