It occurs to me that it’s likely a translated loan of the very common in Spanish estadounidense, which serves all the above purposes, rather than a strict English neologism.

Typically I’ve heard USians as Eu-es-ians.

More sibilant than I’d like, but hardly the worst pronunciation in English.

I suspect you’d find some folks in Latin America that’d take issue with that.

Not everyone, nor even a plurality, but it’s not an uncommon gripe the fact that the Americas are two continents and Americans as just a small section.

Sure but USians is a term to casually express distain for American imperialism and the Monroe Doctrine while also being specific about who is included and who is excluded from that grouping. Which is just as valid.

Descriptive semantics > prescriptive semantics is a petard that hoists all payloads.
