Totally possible to DIY. I did this one myself. It's not easy for all cameras, but I watched a bunch of YT videos too see which point-and-shoot was the easiest to modify (Lumix LX3, LX5, etc), and then I went and bought one of those. Look online for instructions, find what's in your comfort zone!
