The main character begins his life learning to hate and fear the outside world, until he learns rather suddenly that what he was taught was a lie. The rest of his personal character arc is learning how to feel things that were forbidden to him, grieve and heal. He does get better.

The average citizen is not very affected by the overarching plot of the series. There are a few world-altering events over the century that it takes place, but the most significant change someone might notice is the slow and gradual integration of blood elves into normal society.

The average citizen is not very affected by the overarching plot of the series. There are a few world-altering events over the century that it takes place, but the most significant change someone might notice is the slow and gradual integration of blood elves into normal society.

Around book two the main character realizes that the evil he did will continue to exist so long as the Blood Goddess rules his people. So the stakes are literally 'let's kill (a) god.'

I guess I will actually try to post something here. Hello, I'm ASH, long-time writer, DM and dragon enthusiast. I've basically spent my whole life avoiding social media until last year, and the experience so far hasn't been that great. But, I do want to meet with and interact with other writers.
