My mom was BIG on dressing me age appropriately lol. No makeup until 16 and things like that. So I thank her for that. Back then tho in my neighborhood I would get made fun of that no older men found me attractive. “well nobody wants to go to jail for YOU” it was pretty f-ed up lol

I mean as a CHILD I never got any verbal sexual advances. I was skinny and flat as a board until I turned 17. THEN older men started saying things. I know 17 is still technically a child but I think girls who developed breasts earlier had a much worse time with creepy men

Oh definitely! Like a few months ago I found out about “baby burlesque”. Shirley Temple touched on it a bit cuz she was involved in it in like the 30s-40s. Shit was fucking GROSS! Made my skin crawl!

I mean I grew up in the 90’s so I definitely remember that jokes like that weren’t very frowned upon at the time. Along with racist jokes. Yet even if it was “no big deal” at the time I think becoming a teeny bit more PC was the right move…honestly I still can’t watch stuff like Wondershowzen… ugh
