My 10-tomorrow-year-old made a lot of this cake himself - it might be one of my favourite things we’ve made together. The lumpy ganache ooziness is all intentional, he stuck chocolate truffles and cake cut-off to the sides of the cake to make it spookily uneven. It’s gonna haunt my fridge tonight

Giving my kids an important cultural lesson this mid-term, and I’ve just realised - after a lifelong obsession - that Ted “Theodore” Logan is so adorably clueless he even gets his own name backwards (the nickname goes in quotation marks 🙈) I love him, kids are mind-blown that John Wick is so sweet

Just got this from Mom, “Dad’s” care package arrived safe & sound! I was actually on the phone to her when the delivery guy came (I wanted to make sure she didn’t think it was a mistake & send it away) but she wanted me to see how it all looked together. I think Dad would approve?

Popping up to my mom’s overnight, told the kids to pack light as we’re getting the bus and then the train. Just realised they packed seven books between the three of them. We’ll be there LESS THAN A DAY!!!!! Raising tiny mood readers is fun 😭

See I know this isn’t what Jill has in mind but the first thing I thought of was how, nearly 30 years after I read it, Rob Grant’s description of Lister reverse pooping in the Red Dwarf “Backwards” novelisation still lives rent free in my head and makes me cringe about twice a month

OMG!! My musician husband comes from a musical family and I spent a whole Christmas hearing about this and other, even weirder “compositions”. Check out this guy, La Monte Young, who was inspired by John Cage but went even weirder. They’re like taskmaster challenges

The first of three pieces dedicated to David Tudor, under whom Young studied for a year. The instructions specify a performer to "feed" the piano:
Bring a bale of hay and a bucket of water onto the stage for the piano to eat and drink. The performer may then feed the piano or leave it to eat by itself. If the former, the piece is over after the piano has been fed. Push the piano up to a wall and put the flat side flush against it. Then continue pushing into the wall. Push as hard as you can. If the piano goes through the wall, keep pushing in the same direction regardless of new obstacles and continue to push as hard as you can whether the piano is stopped against an obstacle or moving. The piece is over when you are too exhausted to push any longer.[3]

Pardon the mess, I’m “wardrobe shopping” - ie having a clearout while discovering ‘new’ clothes that haven’t fit in years or - in the some cases - never did, but do now, like these two. Not even sure if I like them, but the shirt DOES make me feel like I should be reassuring Belle it’s me so -win?
