Mine’s a nurse shark! :D

Myr took over the dragon long ago, but their kobold servants are still ripe for assimilation!

Here’s another ref for @dragonflayer.bsky.social of their character, Myr, using a kobold as their eldritch host.

And a lot of native bees (at least here in CA) are SO neat! Honeybees are adorable, but nothing beats seeing things like leaf cutters, bumbles, carpenters, etc. in your yard or the wild.

My tubesnouts (A. flavidus) have bred in the lab! I can’t believe how cute they all are. 🥺

Nice job stealing my design, dude. LOL

After only a week, my captured tubesnouts (A. flavidus) have already started creating glue nests! These animals and their glue-making physiology are the core component of my Master’s thesis.

Don’t be fooled… they also contain rage within

This new ref is for TwilightMaster on FA!

Myr is a master of many forms, and taking an equine shape is one of many.

When you take some time to get away from it all, you can change a lot. Myr, though, has some *bigger* changes than most…

Another Myr form ref for the lovely @dragonflayer.bsky.social ! I love drawing bug characters, so it was a treat.

Oyster mushrooms spotted!! Yes, we did eat some of them. They made the best cream of mushroom soup I’ve ever had.

The result of some north coast #foraging; Humboldt ramen!

The additions include pickleweed (Salicornia pacifica) and one of the many orange blobby fungi called ‘Witch’s Butter’ (Dacrymyces chrysospermus).

The pickleweed is briny and crunchy, and the mushrooms have a delightful earthy flavor.

Drew my roommate’s beloved #furbies in a mock royal portrait. Aren’t they majestic?

Here’s a close-up of that Chupacabra illustration I did as well!

(3/4) A comparison I did between the running gait seen in Riskin et al. 2005 and my speculative animal.

(2/4) A collection of the concept sketches I did to help get to the final design.

(1/4) For my final project in Comparative Anatomy of the Vertebrates, I presented a ‘speculative’ Chupacabra that was a close relative to the common vampire bat. The Chupacabra (allegedly) captures and kills prey, so I got to modify the real critter’s anatomy for that purpose.

Terrifying! Mine is also very scary.

This character was also (unwillingly) turned into a cyborg. Here’s his appearance after his transformation as shown on the ref I made.

Character is owned by the commissioner (Szaeravar) on FA.

TW: Dissection

The kidneys are beautiful organs. This lovely specimen was extracted from a female domestic cat during a dissection.

Note the curved lines going toward the middle of the kidney. These are renal pyramid papilla, which help transport urine out of the kidney and into the ureter.

If you see this, post a Dino!

Another doodle today. Olorotiran! I hardly ever draw hadrosaurs, so I thought I’d challenge myself. Not meant to be insanely scientifically rigorous, but still fun!

Experimental bird and beastie doodles I did last night. I really like how these turned out!

TW: Organs (in a research setting)

Cool sheep brain #dissection in Comparative Anatomy!

Many thanks to my lovely lab mates for their help finding weird and obscure brain parts!
