I think a lot of the messaging and historical context flew over a lot of people’s heads since it was a Country album and not like her other albums. Because of this and her being snubbed time and time again I think she rightfully deserved it

For instance. This album has such powerful message and historical context. I’m beyhive down but also had a Brat summer. Guess and 365 went triple platinum in my house. I think this years AOTY was just stacked boots and it was down to the wire

I think the historical impact out weighed here. CC took it home due to the historical meaning behind it… Reclaiming a genre that was originally stolen and also the genre bending element. I love most of the albums on there but most of them were pretty safe pop albums although very very good.
