I regard it as a bonding activity, like hiking together, gaming together, etc. It's about fun and closeness, can sex be about romantic love? Of course, but it's capable of having different types of context, just like how one bonds any other way.

I personally think they see the benefits of far right groups seizing control to cut amoral deals with because those heartless assholes play their game better than people with empathy. Claiming to take a moral high ground is simply the cover they sell the brainwashed base they have.
