It’s a great night to send more science to space! 🚀

We are proud to launch our 6th stem cell science payload from Cedars-Sinai to the International Space Station. Stay tuned for the first production of human organoids in space!

Congrats to all involved. Onwards and upwards! ✨

The other, other best part of meetings is sharing the science and fun with the next generation!

Great representation from Sharma lab at #BCVS25. Thanks Maedeh, Jemima, and Sean for excellent posters on all things iPSCs, organoids, organ chips, and cardiotoxicity! 🫀

Catching up with @seanmwu.bsky.social lab alumni including @hanzhumd.bsky.social and Soah Lee at #BCVS2025!

Reuniting with old friends is the best part of scientific meetings, other than the science of course! 🔬

Grabbing dim sum at #ISSCR2025 with grad school friends from Joe Wu and @seanmwu.bsky.social labs! 🥟

Now they have labs in China, South Korea, US, and Netherlands. Making global friendships is one of the best things about science! 🌍

No better way to kick off the new space center at Cedars-Sinai than with a keynote from NASA astronaut Kate Rubins , one of the few biomedical scientist-astronauts!

Moving up a notch! Honored to become an Associate Professor at Cedars-Sinai.

Huge thanks to my incredible lab team for their amazing work. Also grateful to the leadership here, especially Clive Svendsen, for believing in me. Onwards! 🚀

Thanks to @ucirvine.bsky.social Stem Cell for the opportunity to present our work on stem cell modeling, on Earth and in space!

Fantastic stem cell research program in Orange County. 🍊 Great to chat with many folks about organoid biology!

Access to space is worldwide. 🌏

Awesome gift from one of our lab members who just got back from India! 🚀 🇮🇳

Hey Bluesky 🦋! I am a stem cell biologist at Cedars-Sinai. My lab uses stem cell-derived heart tissues for studying drug toxicity and modeling heart defects. We also send experiments to space to study how microgravity impacts cell biology.

Let’s connect!

Growing stem cells in space? In off-the-shelf labware? In 3D? We did that and more! 🚀🧫

Check out our paper, “Surface tension enables iPSC culture in commercially available hardware during spaceflight” in NPJ Microgravity!
