I'm so stupidly stubborn that I might give this another go in a day or two. This was the best I could do at the time, but my heart wasn't in it. Feeling especially hollow today, so it makes sense

I would like to know how to draw with understanding, but I don't even know where to start. I guess I should start the daily box practice again? Idfk? In the meantime, I will continue to produce art at my current skill level for fun

I know this looks much worse than my normal art, and I have drawn more difficult angles before. This is because I can't actually draw, only copy. I normally copy (not trace) the CSP models, but I felt that was cheating

I do think it's really funny that I posted some completely different Frieren art right when the trend started 😭

The reason I'm struggling so much is that I'm basically a copying machine when it comes to art — I draw things without understanding them. Since the only reference is a flawed image, I feel incredibly lost. I could do it if I brought up one of the 3d CSP models, but that kind of defeats the purpose

There were so many times where I had trouble with something and then saw a video from you on that exact thing I was struggling with. There's an emotional and motivational side of art that isn't talked about as much as technical skills, and the fact you focus on both is why you've helped so much!

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but your videos have helped me immensely, and sharing why may help. The fact that you not only give art advice - but also share your struggles and how you overcame them - has helped me through art block many times. 1/2
