I didn't sign up to kill people as a job my guy. I signed up to serve. To serve a nation I believed in. To put myself on the line for others. To protect others. I legitimately thought i would stand up to bullies that targeted little guys. Signing up was an extension of my anti bully ethos.

For me it was a RPG outside of Ferris Town and Amariyah. And ya, the lack of empathy from the "compassionate left" is kind of bonkers. I think the cruelty of Trumpism has infected a large swath of our society, the more it's acceptable to be an asshole, the more assholes out there. Sad really.
