We recently visited the Diablo Valley College Ceramics Department to tour the studio. The facility is well-equipped for students and artists, featuring kick and electric wheels alongside multiple electric, gas, and raku kilns.

Last Monday, we installed the newest Art Passages exhibit! This show features Art of the African Diaspora, an annual series of exhibits throughout the Bay Area that celebrates and supports the creative achievements of hundreds of artists of African descent.

ARTSCCC visited a beautiful art gallery over the holiday break! Located in Clayton, JOR Fine Art Gallery is owned by Julia O’Reilly, who has been showcasing a mix of local East Bay and international art since 2022.

ARTSCCC visited Red Ox Clay Studio last week! 🎨 Owned by Roger Yee since 2017, the studio is a vital hub for our local arts community. A special thank you to Roger and to Rosie for welcoming us. We are proud to have such a dedicated creative space in our community.

In 2022, California voters approved Proposition 28: The Arts and Music in Schools (AMS) Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act. The measure required the state to establish a new, ongoing program supporting arts instruction in schools.

What an incredible 2025 for ARTSCCC! Since launching the Youth Arts Connection, it's been a joy to watch this program flourish. Our young artists bring so much inspiration to workshops, and we are so proud of the vibrant community we’ve built together. Thank you for being the heart of all we do!

ARTSCCC's Program, Marketing and Community Outreach Manager, Esther Rojas Soto, participated in the East Bay Open Studios at Toki Studio in Richmond with a small group of artists including fellow Richmond artists, John Toki and Armin Haghnejad.

Our friend and partner, Shani Shay of Incarceration to College was featured on the news! Shani's work through ITC makes education an accessible option for incarcerated youth in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco Counties and has served more than 1,000 students across these three counties.

With support from the Contra Costa Together Community Grant, ARTSCCC (Arts Contra Costa County) will secure a Youth Arts Connection program to serve one of Contra Costa County’s most vulnerable populations, youth at John A. Davis Juvenile Hall in Martinez.

Contra Costa County is fortunate to have Brennan DeFrisco as the “Poetry Out Loud” coordinator again for this year's competition. Last week we met at El Molino in Concord to share a meal and discuss the program in preparation for the county competition on February 7, 2026.

We had the honor of attending Donté Clark's reading from his latest work "WE CRY FREEDOM", at the Tarea Hall Pittman South Berkeley Library. Donté Clark, also known as DONBLAK, is a poet, actor, and filmmaker from Richmond, CA.
