Swerving Hippocampus

A gouache and colored pencil sketch of the mythological beast hippocampus. The creature is twisted into an “S” shape and its edges conform with the edges of the paper. It is a horse on the front end with a long fish-like body leading to a finned tail. The creature is mostly blue, green, and purple.

SEASON'S GREASONS
Man After Man: An Anthropology of the Future (1990) is a speculative book written by Scottish geologist Dougal Dixon and illustrated by Philip Hood. The scene depicts a future evolutionary descendant of man a "tundra dweller" attacked by a different descendants species of man in a wintery setting. I'm the distance more large assed members of the tundra dwellers ignore the violent scene. SEASONS GREASONS ONE AND ALL

Make it small, not precious, and do it often. So many people get stuck on "what should I make?" or "what's the point?" but the point is that you made something! You are moving! Are you noticing! You are here! I've kept a daily drawing practice for almost 20 years now and it is a simple and small habit that is repeatable and doable. The practice makes the space. You don't have to feel creative to be creative. Just show up and keep moving you (sic) fave pen or pencil or combo of both!"

The first time I visited the palace of fine arts I laid beneath the dome, captivated by its intricacies. I found myself here again today, feeling quite the same.
