Detail shots! This one turned out to be a lot of detail trial and error but it made for a fun challenge. I love the fight of making a lot detail look readable and clean.

Detail shots! This one turned out to be a lot of detail trial and error but it made for a fun challenge. I love the fight of making a lot detail look readable and clean.

The movie itself is very good, but I really appreciate it coming out in a really difficult time for animation as a medium and the artists working in it. My hope is that this movie will inspire more chances taken for more original stories!

CRAZY WEEK at the comic book store. Haven’t been this invested in new cape stuff in…. A WHILE haha. Much love to Chris Samnee for making it everything I ever wanted out of a Batman comic drawn by him.
Wouldn’t blame him for never doing one again and go out like Mazz. He said it all here, too.

Got a frame for my José Luis García-López Batman and now I’m starting a framed art wall! Still have some more to put up but here’s My JLGL, Chris Sanders, Chris Samnee, and Alex Toth (and some cool JJK screen prints)!
Will get a much better frame for the Toth sometime soon!

Lastly, I did buy some comics! Been on the hunt for that Mignola Batman for so long! Also got some great Kirby stuff and this Eisner Quarterly!Looking forward to reading the Neal Adams interview!

Then I met Chip Kidd and told him how this BTAS book is my bible! He told me it was such a challenge to get made because the WB ppl wanted to send him photo stats of the art and not give him the originals to photo/scan. I told him it was worth it and the book means so much to me! Wonderful dude!

Next up, MICHAEL CHO!!! One of the nicest pros I’ve met at a con. I asked him so many questions about influences and his decision making with his color choices and was just so open and encouraging.
He even sent me home a list of his 4 influences that I’ll probably get framed haha. Incredible dude!
