The people rescued this week weren't climbers - they were hikers, trekking to basecamp & villages on the Chinese side. Almost no one summits in the fall. But lots of hikers because it's a long holiday week in China, so crowds+lousy weather=bad.
But! Yes, overtourism sucks & humans are awful.

I'm so sorry. We said goodbye to our Kepler two years ago under similar circumstances. I still tear up thinking about the little fuzzy guy.
