I was excited for this because I love god awful irredeemable trash movies like nobody’s business. Sad to report it’s neither absurd enough to consistently laugh at and lacks the production effort to be an exercise in masochistic punishment. Just mind numbingly dull from beginning to end.

I initially didn’t like the anime a number of years ago and dropped it early. What a mistake. It’s good and appeals directly to me especially every single time Shimamura refers to Adachi as a needy baby. My head is spinning. I can’t believe vol 2 is out of stock how could April do this to me.

Now this is what I’m talking about. I loved The Cat but much prefer the pulpy gore fest on display here. There’s tons of cool prosthetics and practical effects, especially the great ancestor’s skeleton design. Kind of movie I really wish I could have watched in theaters first. Great VinSyn transfer.
