There's a world and threat beyond our borders too. Look at the Belgian intervention in Syria example that helped eliminating ISIS which was important for our national security

The US did plenty of fucked up shit of their own you can criticise them for. But showing a map of NATO bases and presenting as if they are only USA's bases is just a false claim that weakens your argument.

It's not semantics, it's being factual. 🇧🇪 was active in 🇦🇫 too. You'd hardly call Kandahar a 🇧🇪 base, would you? You'd hardly say 🇦🇫 was under 🇧🇪 occupation, would you? It's just facts. NATO isn't 🇺🇸, and vice versa. Sure they are a big partner but this is intellectually dishonest.

Afghanistan wasn't a US occupation but a UN-mandated intervention. Pretty sure the vast majority of their population would prefer those days over the current Taliban dictatorship

It's definitely outdated and calling them bases is also quite a reach. Most of these are simply logistical hubs for NATO, primarily operated by the US. Like Chièvres AB for example
