What a disgraceful waste of money this whole thing has been.

"A route to a tunnel that doesn't exist" explains the utterly illogical termination in Grange Road.

Absolutely no transport benefits whatsoever just leveraging the TWAO to open up land for commercial development. Shameful.

Absolutely! The failure of Labour to challenge the economic stupidity of Brexit is unforgivable.

By keeping quiet they, ironically, only strengthen Farage.

Someone really needs to shake Labour out of their snooze in the tepid bath of decline.

I don't think it's reasonable to use taxation to force people to use public transport when there is none available.
November 25, 2025 at 9:27 AM
I'd draw a distinction between people within say 500m of public transport that runs with 20min frequency - it's perhaps reasonable to expect them to consider public transport first.

The rest of us fund urban infrastructure through our taxes but get very little in return.

Indeed, we live on a 6'6" width restricted potholed lane with national speed limit (60mph). Obviously there is no footpath...can you imagine a primary school child, or old person, walking or cycling that in pitch darkness?
November 25, 2025 at 9:19 AM
Yes, good point. It's the perfect way for him to distract from his and Russia's role in Brexit.
November 25, 2025 at 8:58 AM
I realise it's different in towns and cities but for those in rural areas, and 15 miles from Cambridge is hardly remote, there are very few options other than owning a car.

It's always odd to me that urban people are unable to understand that public transport only exists in towns and cities.

The problem with Labour is that they are unable to see what businesses need to drive economic growth. I suppose that’s what happens when most of them are ex-civil servants, but it’s not good enough.

EU SM+CU is the key to getting growth started, anything less is a huge gift for Farage.
November 25, 2025 at 8:40 AM
It's baffling that the Government are still using X as their main social media feed.
November 23, 2025 at 12:28 PM
I feel that time plays a big and important part in the equation. Leave it too late to become enthusiastically pro-EU and Reform will already be in power - time will have robbed us of the opportunity.
November 22, 2025 at 10:09 AM
Like all ex-civil servants Reeves and Starmer are incapable of understanding how the absence of SM+CU prevents SMEs from trading effortlessly with the EU.

Quite simply for growth business needs EU SM+CU. The alternative is Labour's doom-loop recession which Farage will ruthlessly exploit.
November 21, 2025 at 4:13 PM
It's staggering that Labour have done so little with their huge Westminster majority.

There is no strategy, or if they have one, they have zero ability to communicate it effectively.

Their Brexit and anti-business policies are deepening a recession that Farage will ruthlessly exploit.
November 21, 2025 at 12:20 PM
It's unclear if this Government have any ability whatsoever to recognise the impact their policies have on SMEs or charity organisations.

They are creating a doom loop with policies that'll cause a recession...a recession Farage will be ruthlessly quick to exploit.

"C2C is a route to a tunnel that doesn't exist" is a killer line!

Isn't the real problem with densification that it often results in leasehold lock-in where building owners can, and do, extort huge payments for minimal services?

Isn't that why people with a choice prefer lower density freehold?

Solving leasehold extortion is surely essential?

I guess the main reason for placing them in the Home Office is that it makes it harder for anyone to accuse them of racism?

It’s strange to me how some politicians who are the children of asylum seekers or immigrants can be so aggressive toward immigration.

Are they trying to overcompensate for their “Britishness”?

I wonder how long it will take for people to realise that the proposed reservoir in Doddington, meant to save Cambridge from drying up, is located in an area only 1 meter above current sea levels.

Is that a good solution long term?
November 16, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Did I read somewhere that Bristow has kicked the bus franchising into the long grass and delayed it for a year?

Buses will never be HQPT in the UK thanks to their reputation as transport of last resort for the poor.

Who was it who said "build a system for the poor and get a poor system"?

I tried updating a legacy Windows Service with AI in 2026...total waste of time. It's quicker to do it yourself.
November 11, 2025 at 5:31 PM
The way BBC News constantly give Farage a platform, despite having only a handful of MPs, is disgraceful.
November 10, 2025 at 5:49 PM
Labour can't do it because they've nothing to say.
