i was also endeared to a lot of the characters n concepts they threw in too n it got a few chuckles outta me throughout. i think it helps x+y was the last pokemon game i really enjoyed so going back was a lotta fun. it also feels weirdly like a yakuza game which definitely helped grab me

biggest reason i got it was the move away from pokemon's glacial turn based combat and into a new atb system that reworks a lot of the moves to feel less useless. its not perfect but it feels a lot better to play imo and id love for them to use it further instead of just have it as a one off
