Today we wrote SGGK conspiracy theories; it was great 2 see students interpret w/o holding back & then 2 show them how they’d landed on things scholars have written abt & wrestled w/! Hopefully a confidence boost, even for the grp that (energetically) argued the Green Knight is a lizard #medievalsky

A little giddy about our material culture/object exploration in class. Between the VERY intent weavers & the excited book- (well, zine-) makers, I think we had a blast & discovered things we can use to deepen our discussions of humanness & objects in our last few readings!

Have gone full nerd! My alternative grading system is structured as a quest (ridiculous narrative elements definitely included) and I made a map for grade tracking. Hopefully this helps students grasp the system more easily and keep up with their progress!
Quest map for ENG 150, divided into a main quest section with stops for major assignments (ex. A Research Portfolio) on the left side and, on the right, sections for mini-essays (levels add members to the student’s questing party) and side quests. The title overlaps the “Final Reflection” text, which I promise is not how the map appears to students.

This year’s holiday be heading and/or dismemberment cooking: Anne Boleyn (a la Six the Musical)

I cannot decide if this design was intentional or a mistake. If a mistake, HOW??? If intentional, WHY?
