Combat wise piloting 8 travelers is a lot of fun, but I think the gameplay needs a serious balance overhaul for them to make it moderately challenging. Even the final bosses were a cake walk. I think I wiped on a boss once throughout my entire playthrough and that was only because I was careless.

70% of the game is Champions of the Continent content while about 30% is specifically new content for 0. Also, some of the story beats felt like a slog and could’ve been a bit faster paced. But I think that’s the downside of 2+ years of a mobile game’s story being put into a full game.

That fight took this game from 6/10 to 7/10 for me. Very happy to have enjoyed the COTC storyline in English finally along with a true ending that’s better than the original one. My biggest criticisms of the game are the reused assets across the board and a lack of content specifically for 0.

Also, some jobs/units get absolutely nerfed to the ground due to their skill set and not being able to use two jobs. I find apothecary in particular to be terrible in 0 because they don’t have concoct which was what made them strong in the first place. Clerics absolutely outshine them

I wish the Provoke skill in this game was better because a lot of the early game units get it and their kit is intended for them to be tanks that soak damage then get bonus effects. However, enemies often won’t target them and tanks in general don’t work well in an 8 man party comp.
