We’re living in the age of what I call reverse philanthropy: instead of giving, you get (See: Trump’s free 747.) And in setting this example, Mr. Trump is making our country’s rich people worse, by emboldening them to embrace his transactional style of governing.

The reality is that renewables plus storage are rapidly reducing the Au demand for fossil fuels. Demand for gas is expected to decline more slowly than coal, partly because of the – contested – claim it is a cleaner alternative, & gas generation can be ramped up and down more quickly than coal.
