The French Bread scene in "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Maid" is still my absolute favorite handling of this phenomenon.
Mr. Von Hoffenheimer and Simon were a little confused why I had asked them to join me, but I’m sure they didn’t suspect the real reason I had called them: I was a little shit. The Tutor looked down at the objects I’d laid out on the table, “Are you planning on teaching a cooking class?” I shook my head, and gestured with both arms at the tableau, “Actually, I have a question I was hoping you could answer for me.” I held up a loaf of bread. “What is this?” “French bread.” “And what is this?” I held up a bottle. “French dressing.” “And this?” “Those are French Fries.” “Great. So…” I slammed both of my hands down on the table, “What exactly is a French?” Simon and Mr. Von Hoffenheimer stared at me. “What?” “These are all French. So, what does French mean?” “…Well it’s a food descriptor,” Von Hoffenheimer managed. I pointed at my hair, “Look at this, this is a French braid. How is my hair food?” “Well… it probably looks like a sort of French food.” “Please point at the food that looks like my braid.” “Now you’re just being ornery.” “I am being ornery because this world doesn’t make any sense! There’s also Russian dressing, American cheese, English Breakfast Tea, and Irish Whiskey. There are no places with those names in this world!” “…Why are you saying in this world, it’s not like there are other worlds?” “THEN WHYIS THE BREAD FRENCH?"

Here's something I dug up--a mock up logo (definitely not final...) for our canceled series "Tales from the Vault".

Why was it canceled? Simple: I came up with a whole pitch document for it and it just... wasn't very exciting or interesting. It's a wonderful setting, but things just didn't click.

$34,135.51. And I had to cut the rest off for privacy, but it was specifically supposed to just be from Germany. I could believe I had a sudden sales burst and got a few hundred bucks. But $34K? From Germany alone? Nope. So I investigated further and... the subject line wasn't the subject line.

So, @yahoo.bsky.social kinda ruined my night. I you didn't know, my partner has been struggling with serious health issues, and we've trying to keep up with medical costs. It's been rough. So, imagine my relief when I saw an email pop into my inbox saying we were having a sudden royalty windfall!
