I've run out of things to say, so here's a comparison of the best I could do in 2021 vs the best I can do in 2025

I often proactively do this when posting WIPs. "I haven't worked on the hands yet" isn't necessary, but I almost always append something like that. "Textures not final", "Might change the lighting" to quiet the voices of critics that don't exist

I think the reason is that I get proactively defensive, like I need to only show something finished to ward off criticism that my brain is convinced will come, even if it almost never does. When posting a WIPs my 🧠 is already preparing a bullet list of justifications for things that are off

I've been trying to work on dealing with the pressure, like posting very early WIPs and blockouts at the cancerous tumor stage of sculpting. Less concerns about showing only a finished, perfected product and a lot of people enjoy seeing the journey

I can tell you that the pressure to improve doesn't really go away and it's mostly self imposed. It's also pretty invisible to most people ie wow two cakes!

Breaks can help, but making something that will never see the light of day can also help. I do that with tutorials when trying new techniques

I'm in the same boat. New project with different techniques/out of my comfort zone helps me improve, and for motivation a low stakes project is always good, it helps with self imposed pressure

You also have to give yourself permission to suck sometimes, output is never going to be consistent

I mean if you don't shit you're not gonna live very long

What yr construction?

Hell yeah, grats

Yeah, I get that

Part of my problem is that I'm very bad at small talk, I need a conversation subject. That and I get overwhelmed easily and hide

The extra punch to the nuts is that I had gotten my business case approved for getting them a promotion to the next level because they were doing really well + had valuable experience

Corporations suck kinda sums it up

My team was doing great, we did a ton of training, surpassed objectives. Came as a complete shock when I was told, and to my employee as well. Given their skillset and experience I am sure they will find something else quickly
