I fear this post is proving the original comment’s point. You should be taking precautions/not working a horse so hard they *need* injections. And this is coming from a person whose horse gets numerous joints injected every year. A horse should not live a life that results in necessary injections.

I love feeding at the barn bc the horses all just walk themselves to their stalls. No running, I just open the gate, let 2-3 in at a time, and they come in calmly. Even the ones with stalls in the indoor arena and not main barn. Video of the perfect angel child as proof 🤩

My friend is on her second strike of putting my stuff back incorrectly… I told her she has to put the reins back a certain way for this bridle or else the leather warps. So glad she listened 🙄

Got the to barn and immediately saw another horse wearing Dakota’s old blanket I was going to sell. Alright no problem it can be washed and it was an honest mistake. Then my friend pulled up (we planned to ride together) and her bf I hate was with her 🤠

Celebrating 22 laps around the sun today. No picture with Dakota yet as she ran away from me earlier. I’ll have to go back tonight when she’s inside, but I’m determined to get one. It’s a 7 year long tradition at this point.

Would y’all believe me if I told you there’s a horse in this picture? I can’t even tell you how long I searched for him outside. I needed to get him ready for Christmas pics and thought I was going to have to tell his owner he escaped instead. 🤦♀️

Bit of a rough lesson tonight while we worked through some typical Dakota theatrics. I’m proud of her for actually working through it though instead of continuously losing her mind. I’m hoping to film two dressage tests this weekend for an online show so wish us luck. 🤞

I’m currently laying in bed and making myself cry watching this video of baby Sweetie bc she was so cute. Mind you she’s currently laying right next to me in bed but I’m still making myself emotional lol

Crappy video ss but I’m so happy with Dakota’s weight now. Her top line also is getting slightly better despite not working much. I still want her just a little heavier going into winter but it’s still soooo much better than the other month. Proof that summer just isn’t her friend. 🫠

Dakota has an abscess rn and is convinced she’s dying. After attempting to soak her foot today I’ve decided I’d rather deal with her post surgery again than this. I think she lasted a whole 5 minutes before spilling the Epsom salt concoction. Send thoughts and prayers for both of us. 🫠

I let my friend borrow my bridle bc she doesn’t have one for her new horse yet. This is how she put it back, aka nothing like how it was. My eye is twitching.

PAC points were officially updated and Dakota has won her first APHA award with me and my first ever. And to think that my little western pleasure pony earned it in her first ever season showing western dressage. 🥹
